Not into this evening class thing...!!

This is the first class I've ever taken in the evening... and it's just not for me!!! I'm glad it's a shortened semester b/c of summer... 10 weeks. (1 down, 9 to go).

I have a baby, so I'm on the go go go all day long and I need the evening to relax and hang out with hubby when baby goes to sleep, but instead, after a long day, I gotta get in the car, commute 45 minutes to school and take a late class.

And as if taking a night course wasn't bad enough in and of itself... it's just a math course, so it's boring as heck. At least if it was something I was super eager about it'd be better.

I don't have to take night classes - my hubby works a rotating shift, so he's not home in the evenings a lot of the time... my mom babysits when he's not here... but, I thought I'd give it a try.

Ah well... now I know. :) I should have known though b/c I'm a morning person, not a night person....

Wierd thing though, I used to work evenings at the hospital and that didn't seem to bother me as much? Maybe b/c I liked it..? hrm.

Thanks for letting me vent...

Do you prefer days or evenings? :)

Ahhh. I know that feeling. I get to that soon as well. I have taken evening classes before and i don't mind them but your right, the family time is nill. Like you said at least it is a short semester. Good luck!

Well I am a night/evening person so I love evening classes. But if yours not a evening person than you know to take earlier classes next semester.

I have 2 little ones as well but I am HAPPY to get out of the house (even though I am tired) just to get away and do something for myself. Math is boring though I think no matter when you take it....lol

Last semester I took Algebra and Anatomy at night (didn't get home till 10pm those nights) and I LOVED my anatomy class. The other 2 classes I took online. Does your college offer any online or telecourses?

Good luck!

Marilyn,

Yes, they do... in fact, next semester I'm gonna do 1 online course and 2 campus courses. :) I wanted to take this one online but the online class was full. sigh...

Zannie,

For as long as I've been in college I have always taken night courses. I like them better because there seems to always be more adults my age, that have children, dh or so, etc. It seems like the evenings went fast for me. If I get accepted into the nursing program for September (I'll know by June 15th:roll ) this will really be the first time in a long time that will be in school during the day. So I guess I'll have to see how it goes. :) . Just give it some time.

I like evening classes sort of-but I took a HORRIBLE Saturday am class last semester and was really dissapointed in the course and the people taking the class with me. They obviously didnt want to be there and were so freakin rude! I know Saturday isnt as fun when you have school, but come on people, we are adults! Oh, sorry, I went off on a vent there. Anyway, I can sympathize with ya, Zannie! I start an evening class next week so will be spending less time with my hubby/kids...but, hey, thats kinda good so I am happy. :p

I took evening classes for the first time during this last spring semester. I did not like it at all. In the future I will do eveything in my power to avoid them. having school age kids, it caused me to miss joining in on many of their after school activities (school programs, ball games etc.). It caused a big rush in the evening. had to start dinner by 4:30, get everyone fed, hubby home at 5:30 and i ran out the door. Then i would get home in time to have to do the whole bedtime routine in a rush, then do homework after getting everyone settled. It just did not suit me.
