New Grads salary in Florida

Hi all,

I would like to know how much hospitals in Florida pay for recent grads. Thanks a lot.

go to monster.com and search nursing jobs in florida some of them will post wages. At one time I saw an add for $22/hr plus $800.00/month living expenses in Southwest FL

Hi!!!

In N. FL they are paying 17.00/hr., in C. FL (on the coast) they are paying 16.00/hr. I have yet to see a 22/hr job unless it is for travel nursing or per diem (no benefits). The living expenses that angel wrote about sounds alot like a travel job. Try to stick to a metro area, you'll get not just better pay but great experience.

Although the hospital I am going to pays 17.25/hr base, with a 2.50 extra/hr diff from 3p-11p, then a 3.50/hr extra from 11p-7a. Weekends are an extra 5.00/hr....you just have to hunt ! Personally I picked the hospital I respected and clicked with then ask about the pay. Good luck and happy hunting

I have a friend over there online and she told me the starting for new grads was anywhere (I guess it depends on where in FL you live) from $16-$17 an hour.

Thanks a lot for the input.... I'm looking for hospitals in St. Petersburg or Tampa Area -- I heard Tampa General Hospital is very good. Does anyone know how much is the starting salary for fresh grads in tampa or st. petersburg?

I work about an hour from Tampa- base for new grads at my hospital is close to $19 an hour. I've heard that TGH starts lower, but whether that's true or not....

Lakeland Regional is expanding and may pay a little more as they are partially union. It is 30 miles from Tampa and may be a boit cheaper and easier to get about.
