HI ALL,

I AM A LIITLE UPSET WITH MY JOB........I HAVE NEVER CALLED OFF SICK, UNTIL TODAY........I CALLED THE NURSING OFFICE, CAUSE I WAS NOT SURE WHO TO REPORT TO, NOW KEEP IN MIND I AM NOT DUE AT WORK UNTIL 7PM TONIGHT AND I CALLED OFF AT 9AM............AND THE ATTITUDE I RECEIVED WAS UNREAL......THIS LADY WAS SO RUDE......TELLING ME THAT SHE DID NOT CARE IF IT WAS MY 1ST CALL OFF OR NOT, THAT I WAS UNPROFESSIONAL FOR NOT GIVING ENOUGH NOTICE.....I GUESS 10 HOURS IS NOT ENOUGH TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!.

AND THAT THIS IS CONSIDERED AN INCIDENT, AND IT WOULD BE REPORTED TO MY FLOOR SUPERVISOR.........SHE BARKED A REQUEST FOR MY NAME, WHICH OF COURSE I GAVE HER, AND I TOLD HER WHICH FLOOR I WORK.....AND OF ALL THE NERVE SHE HUNG UP ON ME.......SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD TO CALL BACK B/C I WAS NOT SURE IF THE PROCESS HAD BEEN COMPLETED......DID I HAPPEN TO MENTION THAT THIS WAS MY 1ST TIME EVER TO CALL OFF????? GOODNESS, IF SOME PEOPLE ARE SO UNHAPPY WITH THERE JOBS, WHY DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE EVERYONE ELSE MISERABLE? IT IS NOT LIKE I AM JUST WANTING TO PLAY HOOKY...........I AM REALLY SICK........>TEMP, ACHE ALL OVER, COUGH, RUNNY NOSE, THE WHOLE NINE YARDS........ANYWAYS THANK YOU ALL FOR LETTING ME VENT, YOU GUYS ALWAYS MAKE ME FEEL BETTER, AFTER A GOOD VENT :). I LOOK FORWARD TO ALL YOU RESPONSES. :p:angryfire

YES I KNOW THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SPEELING ERRORS IN THE ABOVE ENTRY...I APOLOGIZE, BUT REMEMBER I AM SICK.........:) FORGIVE ME :) MY BRAIN IS NOT FUNCTIONING AS QUICK ...:)

I hope you feel better---get some rest.

GOsh can you file a complaint against this person for her behavior? I would certainly check into it.......you can't expose your patients to your germs though so get some rest and feel better soon!

Yeah that person just had a major attitude going.... OUr work is so laid back when it comes to call ins... We have to call at least 2.5hrs prior to our shift and they just say "Ok we will mark you as ill"....

Don't stress over it... Just concentrate on feeling better... You wouldnt think the hospital would want you there if you are sick anyways...

i have dealt with this type of behavior from others as well. i just make sure they understand that i am not coming in and say goodbye. no matter if a person is having a bad day or don't know where the help will come from to use in place of a call-in, rudeness is not the answer. i pray you get better soon.

i am just getting over the symptoms you have describes.

Oh, you poor thing. That's the last thing you need when you aren't feeling well in the first place. What would this woman have been like if you had become sick 3 hours before your shift? Don't know what's happening in her life at the moment, but she needs a serious attitude change.

and i agree that rudeness isn't called for by anyone. but i would have to calmly and politely have asked this woman if i had done something to up set her personally. and if 10 hours isn't enough time then i wonder what is? :chuckle

I wonder if she was the one who was going to have to cover that shift that is now open?

THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS, NOPE THIS LADY WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE TO BE COVERING MY SHIFT........SHE WAS JUST BEING A DRAGON THAT DAY...BUT I GUESS FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD FROM SEVERAL CO-WORKERS SHE IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT.........I FEEL SORRY FOR HER IN SOME WAYS............I FEEL A LITTLE BETTER............ONCE AGAIN THANKS EVERYONE :)

thanks guys for all your comments, nope this lady was not going to have to be covering my shift........she was just being a dragon that day...but i guess from what i have heard from several co-workers she is always like that.........i feel sorry for her in some ways............i feel a little better............once again thanks everyone :)
