Juggling family, money, and school???

I have been so stressed about school, money and family lately, I am about to drive myself crazy! I have 3 children, only 1 in school, so daycare is too expensive right now to work FT.

I returned to school last semester, and took a couple of night classes. That was great, but now no more night classes are offered at all, just day classes.

We make enough money now just to pay our bills, and not much left over. My school is covered by grants, and I am taking a loan to cover books and stuff, but how do you guys survive "life"!!! I don't mean to sound nosy, but some days I feel like I must be the only broke person on the planet!!! I know that's not true, but every bump in the road I come across has to do with finances. I hate that. I want to get a PT evening job, but my husband is on call alot, and it rotates, so I cannot get a set schedule for a night job. I just drive myself crazy sometimes trying to figure everything out.

Could use a little wisdom from someone here!!! (hehe) :sniff: :crying2

(((hugs))) maybe we could cry on each other's shoulders cause i'm in the same boat as you. :o

everything i do these days hinges on "when i graduate". i'm gettin kinda tired of it too.

i've met classmates who got grants to pay for schooling and took out federal loans to help pay bills while they were in school and not working. it might not make sense to some people. it's kind of like "pay now" or "pay later" i guess.

i hope things work out with your situation and you will find a lot of support on this board.

don't forget to enjoy the journey, it will be over before you know it !

ditto, we are all in the same boat !!

rena rn, i see that you are in ohio also ! welcome

I can feel for your situation.

I am married to a self employed truck driver. He is gone so the responsibility for taking care of our kids (9 and 6) is pretty much all mine. I have to juggle school and study time, work (20hours/wk) and everything at home. He won't let me quit my job because I carry the health insurance and for this coming semester, I can fit it all around my school schedule. BUT, starting in January, I will be in nursing classes w/clinicals and that means almost 4 days every week for school, plus study time. I could work weekends as an Aide, but he isn't usually home and then that would mean sitters for my kids, so what is the point? :o

There is no easy answer. Let me know if you find one!!:)

Good luck.

We all are in the same boat! My girls are 11 and 7 so they are both in school (in aug) but we had the issue of summer daycare to deal with.... but it worked out.. it always does.

Just remember this...

If it's worth having it's worth struggling for....

I'm sure you will be a great nurse... because you want it so badly.

Good Luck.... :D:
