How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Hello all, I'm fairly new to the board. I'm a 30 y/o mother of 2. A son/13 and daughter/12 on the 16th. I'm finishing my prereqs and will start clinicals Spring of 04. Please keep me in your prayers and I will do the same!

Oh yeah, I'm also a wife of 12 yrs. Didn't mean to leave that out!

Hi! I'm Jessica and a beginning nursing student! My first day is Aug. 25th and i cant wait! i just turned 19 and am enrolled in a 5 semester program for my RN. I took this last year off from school to work full time in a level one trauma center/ ER. working here has confirmed my decision to be a nurse, and the experience ive gained from this opportunity could never be replaced. Im excited to get to know all of you through this journey!

:p Hi, I'm 32 y/o w/f, married with 2 daughters (12&14) and 2 stepsons (4&8). I'm testing with Excelsior for RN. So far so good..... This was a great idea to introduce everybody. In the process of buying a new home, studying for school, and holding down a full-time position at the local hospital and working prn with a local agency. I stay pretty busy these days but still seem to find time to visit the board. It's great to meet you all and look forward to future posts. Congrats to everyone's accomplishments and I wish you all the best of luck. God Bless!!

Well hello, my name is Austone, and I am a 22 year old student nurse in colorado, I am going into my second semester and have changed dramatically as a person. Being a male in this profession is difficult, but I am learning things about care and myself that I thought never possible!!

Hi Austone, I just wanted to direct this reply to you. It is great to see more male nurses in the profession. It is difficult for everyone and I think that the challenge we go through can only make us different people from before. All for the good, ofcourse. Welcome and hang in there. Good luck!!

Hi All,

I'm Stacy, 20yr old momma to Skyler, who is three. I just started my pre-reqs for an ADN this summer. I work as a CNA right now, and can't wait to actually get into nursing school. I am getting into nursing after the loss of my second daughter, Zoe, who passed away in February due to complications from surgery at two and a half months old.

I am a 33 year old married mother of 2 great kids. I just finished the 3rd semester of a 5 semester ADN program. Will start semester 4 on Aug. 20.

I am the happy owner of a 3 year old Spotted Draft filly that I simply adore. She is a sweetie. When not at school or studying, my kids and I spend most of the time riding.

Can't wait to get back to class . We are officially "seniors" !!!!
