How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Specializes in geriatric, hospice, med/surg.

I'm a 47 yr old. RN graduated in 1986. Have two grown children, two daughters. No grandkids, but four grandkitties (fully grown but will always be kitties in my eyes....I'm a grandmew, not a grandma!)

Have a SO who's shared my home for 13 yrs now. He's from England and his cute accent is the first thing that picqued my interest in him! THat and his gorgeous english complexion and blue eyes! DOn't we Westerners LOVE the accent of those Brits!?!

He's special but we're both divorced walking wounded hence will probably never get married. I have a nice ring, the whole nine yards, just afraid that little bit of paper that makes it all legal will "jinx" it all!

We had a German Shepherd Dog for ten years, raised her from a pup, she was our pride and joy and our "daughter" together....had to have her euthanized back in July...(sniff, sniff). We still miss her and I plan on replacing her post haste when $$ allows...

Got off topic. Sorry. Am currently working part time in a non-nursing capacity due to chronic health issues. Have worked LTC, home health care, hospital med/surg; dialysis, doc's offices, you name it, I've done it!

Locale: North Carolina!

Happy to be here. Allnurses has changed my life....for the BETTER!

Thanks, Brian, creator/grand master of allnurses forum.

I finished all my BSN prerequisites last week(phew!) and today I received my acceptance letter from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing Emory University!:lol2: I am so excited. Hello, Im 37 year old mom of 3 boys. I've been a Respiratory Therapist for 15 years and now I've just graduated with an ADN. Currently, I'm preparing for NCLEX and applying to BSN programs.

To new students, I discovered this community about 2 years ago and its been a wealth of resources and advice. So I decided to stop lurking and start contributing.

Good luck.

Hi I'm new on here and would like to know if you think it is better to go start LPN school and then take Rn online or just take the the RN classes instead? Thanks

Hi, I'm 29 and have 3 semesters left!! I am so excited that I passed Med-Surg!Hello to everyone!

Hi my name is Jennifer and I am 33 years and married with a wonderful 3 year old boy. I just got into the nursing program at Cabrillo college after a 2 1/2 year wait, I start in Feb. I am so excited but anxiety filled. I can't believe I am finally starting! I will be the class of 2008.

Hi all,

My name is Monica and I am 35 years old and live in Dallas, TX. I'm currently taking the last of my pre-req classes before I can apply for the ASN program at Mountain Veiw College. It's been recommended that while I wait to be accepted into the nursing program that I take any and all nursing classes prior to going onto clinicals. This will help out with the course load. Has any one else been advised this at all??
