How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

hi my name is cathy i did register with this site about a year ago,i have visited this site now and again but did not get round to posting messages.i started my training one year ago, so i will be a second year student in one weeks time.oh how time flys
HI, I am 52, kids are grown and am two terms away from finishing nursing school but an incident a week ago in clinical has been a big problem - I was accused of dishonest behavior for asking my nurse not to mention something I thought was just embarrasing but had not resulted in a medication error - so I have to appeal the decision. Any comments?
I guess I'm a new, sort of old student. In my first life I was an English major and grad student (saved myself from the PhD by the skin of my teeth), but found the siren song of healthcare irresistable. Now I'm an ETP student in Boston, happily trading the crap I dealt in English lit for the crap I deal with on med/surg...at least the med/surg kind eventually flushes!

PS: confession time. I moved to Boston from NYC, and I, uh, am not exactly a Sox fan...:uhoh21:

Hello...Mine name is Kellie I am 33 yo mother of 2 girls, one 13 and one 10. I am married and thankfully my husband is working two jobs so that I can go to school full time and be home with the kids. I haven't gotten into the program yet, however the acceptance letters are going out this Wednesday. I am pretty hopeful that I will be accepted.

Hi, my name is April. I am 21 and this summer I will be starting a 3 semester LPN program. I have been interested in nursing since I graduated high school a few years ago, but simply went to a community college for an AA, which still is not finished, because I was not sure of what to do with my life. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, a Marine, for 2 years, and we will be moving back to Florida not long after he gets out of the military. I wish everyone here the best in school and in life.
