  2. Anyone else in NJ work in a hospital that is starting 7:1 nurse patient ratios? Mine has started already and as a nurse I feel it is extremly unsafe....
  3. right now i have 2 clinical days a week and 2 lecture days a week...all from 7a-3:30p and then i usually go home and do anywhere from 4-6 hours of homework......i work fridays and saturdays.....if you live at home STAY THERE! if you have someone to support you it will be to your advantage....i dont work on sundays so i can have that whole day to get everything i need for my school week in order plus i usually have some kind of paper due...my nursing school pretty much told us the first day of the semester that if you have a job or a bf say good bye!...it is a huge challenge and i am constantly exhausted but its not too bad...i have learned that you just have to stay organized and it will all work out..but you will be amazed at how much you have to learn and how much you do learn....all the mothers in my class are my heros i have no idea how they do it!~
  4. My PDA is my life. Check with your instructors though because some of mine let me use it and some hate them. All in all I dont have to carry around my heavey books and when I need something its much faster to find it in my PDA then hunt through pages. Also just about every person in my class loves the Saunders review books any book store should carry them. They are great for practice exam questions. Oh and buy a couple of pen lights because they are often easily lost and invest in a good hand lotion.
