I'm not going to class today

I have senioritis. Seriously, I could not be any less interested in school. I should be excited... I'm filling out graduation apps, and finally learning about the critical care stuff that I *love*... but I'm so tired of driving 3 hours round trip to go to what is supposed to be a 2 hour lecture which is condensed into 45 minutes and consists of an instructor reading aloud off a power point...

Dood, I can read.

So I thought I'd be more productive if I stayed home, cleaned up/did some laundry, and actually studied from the book instead of listening to the chickenheads.

"senioritis",..... that reminds me of when I was a senior in HS and was taking classes at the junior college the second half of the day. I am so glad that the teacher liked me, because I totally blew off English 101, and put off my term paper until the last minute... ended up writing an ESSAY titled "Senioritis".... I ended up with an A in the class and didn't even have to take the final because my grade was already setting the curve.... now that I think about it, what kind of freaks was I in class with??

Probably the same kind of freaks that are at every junior college.

For my humanities credits, I thought I would be slick and skip english and take philosophy 1420: society and the law.

Um, bad idea. I ended up in class with a boatload of johnnie cochrans. Had a headache every Monday and Wednesday for the entire semester.

well, have fun on your day off!

Thanks! :D

Have fun! The minute I read the title of the thread, before I looked at who started it, I knew it was you Reb. It just screamed Rebel Reb.

I'm finishing up some Valentine's Day candy, and having lunch with an allnurse buddy (and that breadstick girl at Olive Garden better be on her toes today!)

Heather

I want some Valentine's Day candy. Waah waah waah.

I still have to go to work this afternoon, though. Now I'm browsing Maryland hospital websites and checking out their critical care internship stuff... my open house with the employer of choice isn't until next month. (And they aren't a Maryland hospital, anyway)

I feel for ya, Reb! I hate it when instructors forget a) that reading ability is a prerequisite for the students and b) their 'instructing 101' lesson in which they were told it is POOR FORM to read off the PowerPoint (or slide projector, in their day, lol). Especially after a hellacious commute. So far I haven't skipped any classes but I've certainly been tempted and there are other students who do it regularly. Usually I just sit there and work on something else while they're reading at me. :(

Enjoy your day off, hope it's sunshiny and you can get out. :D

Thanks but its cold as (insert expletive here). We're actually expecting 2-4 inches of snow today.

Heya Reb,

I know what you mean. Enjoy your day away from classes. Sometimes it's all it takes to get the motivation you need to keep going.

I wish a day off from lecture were all it took to get me motivated. I keep thinking about graduation, hoping that will inspire me to get off my orifice and do something but it doesn't seem to have worked thus far.

Wow that is a long commute. I don't blame you for not going!
