How many student smokers?

Hey there,

I also quit cold turkey! It has been since December 1998. Sure, it's very hard when we're out for dinner/drinks. I do not miss the expense of smoking, though. My kids were a big part of my decision to stop. Alex was 4 and saw a show on tv about people that had cancer and he said he didn't want that to happen to me. I finally quit when he was 7. Kids are SO SMART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did gain some weight, but the way I figure it is that I CAN change that. I can't change cancer.

OK...I admit it! I'm a smoker!

I used to smoke a pack a day...but now I'm at about a pack every 3-4 days. Hubby hates that I smoke...I must admit, I'm not fond of it either. I unfortunately have a love/hate relationship with my smokes. Some days I hate it...some days I love it! Thankfully the love days are getter farrer and fewed between. I always told myself I'd quit when I was pregnant but I think it will be sooner now.

I am an ex-smoker going on my third year now. I can tell you I loved smoking. if they ever creat a smoke that never harms anyone and in non-offensive. i will be a smoker again. In the meanwhile I have a good life free of the habit. I am a cold turkey person as well. I was two weeks before surgery and I smoked my last one.

started when i was 12- quit when i was 22 - re-started when i joined the usaf when i was 25 - re-quit when i was 32..... how did i do it? weened myself - and married a non-smoker.... i know of manymany nurses who smoke....and some md's as well..... but most of them were in the military - go figure? yes i'm fat now, but i'm glad i quit!!!

Can't decide if I put this weight on because of quitting or because of boredom over winter break. Haven't quite gotten to the point where I have to lie down to button my jeans but I'm pretty darn close!! LOL!!
