Many of you know that I am a die-hard tradionalist. I like the white uniforms & nursing caps.
I volunteered to go to work w/my director of nursing in PACU this Friday & she said I needed to wear scrubs. WHAT, ME, SCRUBS? :rotfl:
Well, I drove 1/2hr. away to a store where they had Disney scrubs. And low & behold, I found Lady & the Tramp! My favorite Disney flick.
Do I think they are flattering? No!
Do I think they are professional looking? By no means!
Are they alittle childish? Answer points to yes.
Are they comfortable? He_ _ yes!
Since when do women settle for being comfortable over looks? Usually never, until now.
Just wanted to share this bit of info w/you. I still would like to wear whites & my cap for the most part- but TO EACH THERE OWN.

Aren't scrubs wonderful? I worked as a MA for 7 years before deciding on nursing school. I could not imagine a career where I had to wear dresses and pantyhose. I was meant for a heathcare career.
P.S. I love Lady and the Tramp too (as well as all things Disney)

LOL....I don't start nursing school until the Fall, but I must admit, scrubs look absolutely comfortable....maybe it's the comfort seeker in me....lol. I can't wait to be able to wear some...I may just go by some to wear around the house...:-)

hi everybody!!
I am trained in the UK and the uniforms that I wore when I was a student were made of a thick fabric and uncomfortable. They are the same when you graduate. I loved wearing scrubs while I worked in ICU.

Wearing scrubs beats the heck out of wearing pantyhose & heels everyday.
