OK, I get ready to do my 1st IV flush (LPN student). I am in the pt.'s room w/ 4 other students & my instructor. After clamping the int line, I reach into my pocket (1 of 4) to get the "capped" syringe. Well, I first pulled out my cover-up stick, "That's not gonna do alot of good," I said. Then I pull out my eyeliner, "hehee." :uhoh21: THEN, I pull out my lipstick.
At last, I pull out the syringe & my instructor looked like
. Well, I go to flush the IV & it squirts out the sides at the top.
WILL THIS EVER END???
In the end, my instructor got a new cap & I did the flush
. As bad as it seemed, my teacher laughed & said, "we can always give him a makeover." The thing is, I don't wear alot of makeup. It was real early when I left the house & wanted to put some on when I got to clinicals.
Just thought I'd share. justjenn
