My Bio exam is next week...I figured if I didnt schedule it, I'd never write it :p

I would like you to share your study/prep tips with me and your test taking tips with me. I am a nervous wreck already!

I have to pass the exam in order to pass the class and even though I know the material, for some reason I feel that I am going to blank out and fail!!

Please share your tips!!!

Thanks :)

I don't have any advice, but I'm having a similar panic attack about my chemistry course!

I've been taking it online and due to some faulty equipment in my lab kit, I fell about 2 weeks behind. Oh no! I'm scheduled to take THREE chem exams at my school's proctored lab on March 26th... wish me luck. :o

Good luck to you..... test anxiety is a killer. I'm sure someone here will chime in soon with some good advice - this place is so full of great, knowledge folks! :)

I started quizzing myself using a dry erase board, it totally helped. Plus, it's more fun (why, I don't know!!! :chuckle ) than using just a regular boring piece of paper and a pen.

I guess I just need variety!

Study the lecture notes and understand everything and remember it. I just got back my A/P lecture exam back. I got a 91

which bio class are you taking?

Hi:

I think everyone learns differently but I always rewrite my notes on index cards which reinforces the info and then I study from the cards. Some people do well in study groups, but I usually prefer to study alone or with just one person and we quiz each other back and forth which then also reinforces the info. Good luck on your test!!!

i've re-written everything on index cards, i've been testing myself with online quizzes, I'm reading and re-reading my support questions and key questions....

I'm going to be so glad when its done! I hate taking tests! I get so sick just thinking about them!!

Thanks for your help!!!

I read the index cards tip from someone else on this forum and it's really helped me. The greatest part is that I stick them in my purse and I can pull them out and study whenever - like when I'm waiting for something. The other thing I do is the opposite of cram - I start about 2 weeks before the exam and study a little bit - even if only 15 min - every single day. On the weekends, I put in a good 2 hrs a day. It's worked so far, I have a 98 in Chem. Next test is Friday and I feel pretty prepared but still nervous...I guess I'll never feel like it's easy. I also reread my textbook, I don't just rely on class notes. I re-do the homework too, usually several times because the prof really emphasizes that. The test is often just like the homework with slight modifications.

Read the material, write tha material, then speak it out loud. It gives you 3 chances to remember instead of one since the info is stored in different areas of the brain. It helped me :)
