I just filled out the forms for the National student nurse association and there is another association that I am joining that I rather not say because it caused HUGE controversy on another board. The instructors at my school STRONGLY encourage that we get involved in nursing organizations/association. They say it is a wonderful way to network with people and connect with other people who share the same interests you do.
Hey all!
Well, I do plan to join a couple professional organizations as soon as I have sufficient money! hehe. I would say by this summer. :) A couple nights ago I went to a meeting of my county's nursing association which is a subsidiary of the WA state nursing association. The president of the latter organization was there! It was great.
I'm applying for two scholarships related to organizations before March. It's a long shot but I have to give it a try!
Question for you guys. My county's nursing association is part of the state nursing assoc. which is part of the ANA. So, if I join my county's assoc., does that mean I'm then also a member of the ANA??? What about if I join my state organization? Or do I have to join all three to be a part of them?

I have been thinking about joining at least 2 that I am interested in. I think it's important to establish relationships with people who are in the same career field and/or interests as you do. Also, a lot of organizations/associations are offering scholarships....
