Did you take the TEAS test already? What was it like? How much did you prepare? What kind of student are you and did you find the test easy? hard? or just hard in some areas?

I'm freaking because suddenly I have to take the TEAS in a few days which leaves me no time to study! It would be helpful to know what to study and what NOT to study.

Is there Geometry on the test? Angles and lines?

What about the science portion. What was that like?

It has been a while since I've taken a math class so I'm freaking out.

I am an LVN and was invited to take the LVN-RN transition class at my community college. How nice! It was sooner than expected so I wasn't prepared. So I email them and said sign me up for TEAS March 13. (the class begins March 16.) They email back and said no the test has to be taken before Feb 22 so I had to schedule it for this Monday. :uhoh3:

I took the DET to get into LVN and did pretty good on that but there was no science portion and plus I had been studying my math.

Somebody help me please! :crying2:

Another thing, are there square roots on the test?

I'll keep adding stuff as I think about it :)

Thanks for any help you can give. I really need it. If I don't pass this test first time out I have to wait a whole year for the program to start again. :(

NO I cannot. I take the test in two days. :)

I neglected to mention that I picked up study manuals for the nursing entrance exam at my library for free :D. But as I turn to Geometry I can't help but wonder if there will be Geometry on the test etc. That is why I am here asking.

Review what is in the study manual. That's what I did and I did well on the parts that I had reviewed....and not so well on the stuff that I thought I'd know (the science stuff.....) GOOD LUCK :)

I was just going to start on that science part! :)

I only have the rest of tonight to study and I work tomorrow (12 hr shift) then I study Sunday, then take the test Monday! I am excited and scared all at once. I took Biology more than 15 years ago! Just had Micro this summer tho.

I have to take the Teas for monmouth county vocational feb 27, 2009. I have been out of school since 1981...I am a nervous wreck. It is supriseing that the Phrase if you dont use it you lose it applies......helppppp

I feel you about the math part because its has been a while since I taken a math class. The math portion had many porportion problems so look that up. There were quite a few fraction (such as adding, subtracting, mult, div). I don't think there were a single geometry problem on the test so don't worry about that. For English, review puncuation and grammar. The reading portion was about finding the main idea and supporting deatils and stuff like that. Science i thought was difficult. There weren't as many anatomy questions as i hoped. Mine consist mostly of earth/life science. However my friend said chemistry conisisted most of hers. Gl on your test

I felt the TEAS was mostly common sense and critical thinking. There was some math, but nothing extreme (as I remember). There were a lot of "If all As are Bs and all Bs are Cs, then all As are Cs" True or false?

I did pretty good on my TEAS. Passed with 87% and passed in all areas too. The science was hard too. I think I must have guessed many correctly for me to pass that portion! :D There was one geometry question and one math question where you had to go from Celsius to Fahrenheit. But most stuff was pretty basic. I only studied about 2 days because I didn't have any time before taking the test.

All those books I got from the library were too hard but I did learn some concepts from them that I used. :)

Hi all!

Im new to allnurses but i had been on the sight many times before to check on posts regarding the TEAS test. I took mine Friday 3/20 and walked out of there feeling so disappointed in how i did. To top it off I had an incredible cold so all i could concentrate on during the whole test was not coughing and how bad i wanted to blow my nose!!!:wink2: I studied for the test using the ATI study guide but i didnt think it was all that helpful for what was on the test. My main focus when studying was on the MATH section... and i actually did worse in that than all of the other subjects. Needless to say i wasnt so confident when walking out of that testing room! Anywho long story short I got my results back yesturday and i actually managed to get an 81.2% I was very happy with this because it was not expected!!! Now all i have to do is wait to see if i get in!

If i could give any suggestions in studying it would be to look at ratios and percentages and metric conversions... the science portion was not nearly as bad as i thought.

Thank you all for posting on this test because it helped me feel better about taking this exam:redbeathe
