Oh this is absolutely positively one of the most exciting times of my life. I can't believe I am really going to do this. In 3 1/2 weeks or 26 days I start my first semester of nursing school. It is all I can think about. I am scared and nervous and excited. My hubby and the kids and I are going on vacation on Friday for a week so that should help pass some of the time away. I can't wait! So are you counting the days? And what are you doing to pass the time away?

Teresa

I start in 11 days, I can't wait! I am counting down the day. Daycare is taken care of, my medical stuff is taken care of, all I have to do is to get the house majorly organized so that when I start school I won't be stressed out because I can't find stuff :)

Hi Kay, Congrats :) and Good Luck. Looks like you will be going full time, right? You listed some things you got done before starting school...

If possible, Don't forget to also:

Christmas shop now-there won't be time then

Majorly clean your house-there wont be time

Visit those you don't see often-there wont be time

Sleep late when you can-there wont be any extra time for that

Get what I'm trying to say? You have your family and obligations and I applaud you for going for this .. don't let anything stand in your way, just have all those little pesky things taken care of..cuz most if what you will be seeing in the next yr is school, hospitals, LTC's and books......I still have horrible flashbacks of having NO life and it's been 14 yrs! Not horrible, but you know what I mean...lol. I am So serious about the Christmas shopping tho...that was an absolute joke when I went to school, it never got done, honestly,...that's finals time! You will do great! Best of Luck take care...Let me know how you're doing :D

Congratulations to ALL of you on the previous posts who will also be starting/returning nursing school-you will do great!

I am counting!! I don't have a job for the summer and I'm sooooo bored! I just wanna get to school, 19 more days...arg!!

Congratulations to everyone who will be starting nursing school this semester. I am so excited for all of you!!! Remember to study ahead of time....study hard and take a moment to laugh.:D

Hugs,

Fatima (who hopes to follow in all of your footsteps)

I'm excited and terrified all in the same breath....i start on the 19th and have absolutely no clue what to expect (except not having a life) :)

I start my first semester in the fall too. I work full time right now in a group home. We go on vacation 8/8-8/17 then I have two more weeks of work. I start on 9/1 and go down to part-time at work. I CANNOT wait to start my new career as a Student Nurse!! I feel like I am "nesting", like I did when I was pg with both of my kids!! I have been cleaning everything in site, closets, windows, etc and have been stocking up on bulk foods so my husband wont have to buy more than milk bread and eggs! heehee! I'm jealous that most of you will be starting a few weeks beofre me though!!:D

Oh heck, I guess it is really here. I am starting my 1st semester also. We have orientation on Aug.13, and I am scared to death. We start on Aug 18th. I am a EMT, and a CNA, but I still feel like I did on my first day of high school. Well I wish everyone luck....

Okay all let's suck it up and get reeeaaaaaddddyyyy to RUMBLE!!!! Nursing school look out!!!!!!!

If you're in your 4th semester or just starting I think we should give ourselves A PAT ON THE BACK..We're here and are going to suceed!!!

Let the madness begin....

Good Luck Everyone!!!

I hate when I mis-spell something "SUCCEED"

Yes, I'm counting! 32 days! Today I went and bought some of my books... the fundamentals book alone was 1800 pages... how will I ever carry them all!

I'm signed up for my BCLS (CPR) class for August 19th, orientation is the 21st... I can hardly wait. Oh yea, I ordered my name badge today and got the patch for my uniform. I'm on my way... and I can't hardly believe it!!!

Our acceptance letter just arrived yesterday (7/31) and CPR is the 18th! I am soooo excited and just a bit scared. I am older (45) and still have three kids at home...my husband is wonderful and excited for me. I couldn't have gotten through my prerequisites without his support and help. What I'm mostly scared of right now is the changes in our lifestyle (mainly that I won't be home much). Anyone else?
