Any other previous at-home moms going back to school fulltime? - page 2

I've been a work-at-home mom for 6 years, since my oldest child was 3 months old. This has worked out great for us - I'm still bringing in income but I have the flexibility of working at home so if... Read More

The few family members that I have contact with just tell me to go and do it and not worry about these things until it comes. Well, I am not one that is able to do that. I have preparations set up for daycare and after school programs BUT I still don't have anything figured out for the two days that my labs start at 7am. I "think" my Aunt is going to take the kids where they need to go, but otherwise....

As for when they are sick..who knows what I will do. Trey has had pneumonia and every time we have sent him back to preschool, he has gotten sick again so we just decided yesterday to pull him out and let him get his strength back before kindergarten starts next year. If he gets sick (and I am sure he will) we are seriously going to have to rely on my husbands vacation and sick time and his co-workers to do some re-scheduling. I don't have anyone really to rely on during the day when my classes are.

As one other person here said though...if you wait until the "right" time to go, you never will. I guess we just gotta bite the bullet and do it!

Ack! Sickness is one of my nightmares! If they get sick on Thurs/Fri it's okay because I'm not in classes, lol, and my hubby works nights, so I guess if it comes down to it, he'll miss out on a days worth of sleep. I have some family who I could probably call if needed for help.

I have been a SAHM for the past 9 years, my dd's are school-aged (9 1/2 & 8) and my ds are 3 and 14mths. old. While I'm exciting about venturing outside the home to pursue my education...I'm a little anxious about putting them in daycare. My children have always been with me, and now they will spend their day time hours with someone else. I have been looking at child care centers for the past 3 months...their fees are outrageous!!! . I have to admit it's getting down to the wire and Sept. 1st will be here before I know it. I do have to find back-up day care just in case the schools close to inclement weather....and I still have class. or if they get sick, etc. etc.

I was a stay at home Mom for 18 years raising three daughters youngest one is 15.

I went back to school about three years ago part-time. I had never attended college and thought it was time to do something for myself. I decided about a year ago to get my BSN in nursing. I've gone to school full-time this year and it's been tough. I'm trying to hang in there but feel very overwhelmed. At the same time, it is very rewarding to suceed in something other than motherhood
