I am so happy the semester is almost over. I need a break (Don't we all.) Essarge 2004 may seem like a long time but it will be here before you know it. Everyone is like let's start thinking about graduation in my class and graduation for my class is May 2003. I already pre-registered for next spring. I am doing Peds, OB, and community clinicals. How about everyone else? I am debating if I should go ahead and do 18 credit hours or not next semester. I am going to talk to my advisor. I was thinking of going ahead and getting my nursing elective out of the way that way senior year I will not have the elective to worry about. I am pre-registered for 16 if do 18 I will be adding 1 class which is 2 credit hours and it is an online class. I think I would be able to handle it and it is a easy elective.
Well got to go,
Take care
Hey peaceful,
I have finally decided on what I am going to take spring, here is the list:
ENC11O1 COMPOS 1
CHM2030 CHEMISTRY
STA 2122 STATISTICS
LIFE CYCLE
FINR ARTS
This is seventeen credits. I know I am going to do well and with my friend janleb, I will be encouraged to get A's. I am looking forward to next semester and I am working real hard to keep my GPA high.
I already pre-registered for spring semester also, that's what prompted me to write this thread. Next semester is a little tougher than this one, but hey! If I can do A&P I plus A&P II in 12 weeks last summer, I can do anything!! My schedule for next semester is 18 credits and includes
Intro to nursing practice/lab
Pathophysiology and Pharm
Medical computations
Microbiology/lab
and last but not least....
Global societies (very boring and allot of reading)
They do offer a winterim schedule (5weeks) but I'm under strict orders from hubby to take that time off!! LOL!! I'll probably be happy for about a week and then start on the books for next semester to get a head start!! LOL!
I am cheering right along with all of you. I found out some of the local hospitals will hiring nursing students as nurse interns after completing one semester. I can't hardly wait to get a hiring paying job with more responsiblity. That way I will be able to make the transition from the CNA scope of practice to the SN scope of practice. Although I am also going to look into working at a registery if that is going to pay more. The hospital that I currently work for has decided not to offer shift bonuses for working extra shifts during the busy holiday season. I have already decided not to work extra because it is already bad enough when I work short staff on my regular days. Sorry for so long it been awhile since I vented last. :)
Hey Peaceful2100,
I noticed you are starting Ob/Peds next semester. I am also starting Ob/Peds in January. I hope we can get together and discuss sometimes.
I am starting my fourth semester in Nursing clinicals in January, hopefully. We only have about 5 more weeks left in the Med/Surg clinicals. I can't wait........Stress level is increasing.
Thanks, Its been very encouraging to read the boards. ...Thanks for allowing me to become a part of this....
