For anyone here that is in an Accelerated BSN program, how many credit hours do you take per semester?
At my school for the first 2 semesters (the accelerated program is a total of 4 semesters-continuous- including the summer for 16 months) include 5 classes with around 16 credits total. Is this typical?
Also, for those in accelerated BSN programs how much time do you have to do non-academic things, outside of nursing school?
Sorry that we kind of took over your thread there for a minute! I was wondering what accelerated programs you are looking into? I am looking into Grand Valley, Detroit Mercy, U of Michigan, and Wayne State in Michigan and IUSB, IUPUI, and Saint Mary's in Indiana.
Go to one of the info meetings at U of D Mercy. I heard they put together a sweet fin aid packet.
When are you planning to start? I am hoping to start Wayne this fall.
I did a 12 month Accelerated BSN and my program was divided into 4 quarters. We took about 5 classes each quarter, so I guess it was about 18 credits. It was a really hectic year, both financially, academically, and emotionally. I did have some time on the weekends to go out with friends, but the majority of my time was spent devoted to school. It was totally worth it in the end though.
