Who all is starting 2nd semester?? What are you taking and are you excited??

I am taking Clinical 2, Concepts of clinical decision making 1, Principals 2, Clinical 3 and Mental health nursing. Along with an online gov't class. I am excited but scared at the same time everyone at my school says 2nd semester is the hardest!! I made all A's in 1st semester so I just keep telling myself "everyone said that was hard too and I did just fine this will be the same way!" Another reason I am scared is I ended 1st semester badly with one instructor we "made up" and will not every have her again but it left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole nursing thing. So what do you have this semester??

I am starting 2nd semester. That is great that you came out with "A's". I came out with a "B" and a "C". I am taking Adult Health I (med-surge), and OB. Along with 12 hour clinicals for both classes. I'm really excited about OB. Can't wait to get started again. 1 down and 3 to go!!!

I'm starting me second semester of nursing classes in January, even though i'm a sophmore. my school does a 1:3 thing, we had a year full of prerec's. I'm so scared to go into clinical for the first time. Its hard to think that i'm even close to being ready.

Specializes in Cardiac Tele, MICU RN.

I am starting next week in Adults1 (Med-Surg), Assessment skills, Ob, clinical skills, and then Psych. I am nervous but anxiuos at the same time, because a lot of students said that med-surg was hard, but then again I don't think anything is as challenging as Foundations in Nursing, which I received a B in, thank goodness! Good Luck:wink2:

My classes start on Monday and I will be taking Med-Surg I w/ clinicals on Tues. & Thurs., Step Aerobics, and Pilates on the ball. Hoping exercise will help relieve the stress and take off a some pounds gained last semester. :yeah: Some say this semester will be tougher than last, and some say it gets easier. I'm just going to have to feel it out myself. I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time, just getting ready to go at it again.

Hope you guys have a great semester! :wink2:

I'm starting my 2nd semester next week and I'm just as nervous about clinicals as I was the first semester. We will have 12 weeks of clinicals this semester we only had 8 weeks in our 1st semester. My class load is light just Maternal Child Nursing and Art Appreciation.

Tx2007 great job on making it through the first course with A's I ended up with B's . But I'm not complaining I plan on using my same study strategy and hopefully I can make it through this semester with a passing grade.

Good luck everyone :)

Thanks I hope everyone has a great semester too!

I will be starting my second semester also. I am motivated at this point and I will be taking med-surg II  , psych/mental health:imbar , applied principles (nursing skills) and junior seminar II. I am suppose to take a stats class but I think I will wait until the summer and take it online. I have taken the time to get things in order at home and I pray that I do better this semester than I did last semester.

Good Luck to you all:balloons:

I'm starting my 2nd semester on the 12! I'm taking Med-Surg 1 (12 credits) and Pharmacology (5 credits). 17 credits! Yikes! Classes M and F, clinicals T, W, and R. Plus, I already told them that I would tutor again next semester. What was I thinking? :lol_hitti Oh well, might as well make it as challenging as possible, right? LOL. I'm excited as can be over this semester. I loved last semester, despite all the stress; and can't wait to do it again! At least time goes quickly when I'm that busy.:)

Best wishes and good luck to all. I am starting second semester as well... Holistic I (med -surg) and Mental Health are on my plate this round.

I can't believe it! Break is over and it is time to get to work. This semester I am taking A&PII, med-surg, maternal-child, clinical concepts, and nutrition and diet therapy. Yep. All of that. I am so excited, and I am challenging myself to continue with the 4.0. I know it will be difficult, but if I study lots and lots, I can do it. I'm ready!
