Always I wished to be nurse in US, because is a free country and i am free woman.I am soo upset for the last experinece had it here. I wished to never been soo stupid to belived in freedom and right. A nurse is A NURSE and is supposed to think with HER OWN BRAIN, good or bad and to assume her own judgments! But some time A NURSE is not alowed to think with her head in a free country, much more neither to question an order obtained by someone else without assesing the patinet condition or neither to knowing about was happpen with the patinet all day long.

This message is for all nurses who will be nurses here in US. Be very carefull where you go and with who will go along.

Think ONLY with your brain, if you belive that IS NOT OK, your licence give you the right to call the doctor, one time, and another time, until you clarify the order or the patient situation . If you think that is BAD or could be bad, is really are, even if someone try to deal with money problems instead of patient helath issues the health issue is still there even is not coverd by insurance.

Nobody is superior to your self. You are the nurse you work with your licence for patient well beeing... no one know much better the patient than your self... and if is insubordonation to ask why and to try to clarify... YES is insubordonation for MY patient well beeing... and I will do it again asking and clarifying instead to say YES SIR and just do it, how you push me to do...like I was your sodier in the army, without thinking even if the patient was sedated much more than usual.

I am ****** off of all these personal revanges because.... I am not like you are... and that make me sick! I am proud for what I am, I am free with my logical mind working well, thinking at my patient instead to think at my well beeing!

Be nurses, be good with warm souls, because for this you become nurses not for money, not for positions, not for network, and always think about you patient and goes out ASAP if is a poison work environment there, because you know that one day this work style could harm someone.

Was the worst day in my life in US, just because I dare to ask for much more than I am allowed to do it. Just Do it or you are insubordonate. **** man, I am not in army I have right to talk with you and clarify a situation and YOU supposed by your position to talk with me and guide me not to pushing me and ignoring me!

Enough... to upset!:devil::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I can relate to your post. Nurses I have worked with seem to be able to shrug off frustrating situations with doctors. I find I just get incredibly angry. I shouldn't get so angry, but....

What should I do, shrug off my concerns and accept I can not provide an optimal level of care for my patient.

I really struggle to know the answer to this situation. Today I sent an inquiry to hospital specialist, after notifying the doctor yesterday and receiving no response. Anyway, the doctor blocked my request for assistance to hospital consultants, he came in today, ordered some tests, but did not bother to visit my patient.

Frustrating.

I feel sorry for you dear, I have been there and done that and it ain't fun. I get the impression that you came here from another country to work. Many of us here had posted that we suspect employers love foreign workers because they THINK they can mistreat them and they will not object like an American worker will. Glad to see it ain't so.
