Wrong lens

Hi, I work in ophthalmic nursing. I always triple check the lenses. I only graduated in August too. Anyways I was working the other day and went to go look for the next patients lens. It was a lens i was unfamiliar with as they are old and never used. I had to ask the nurse who was scrubbing (as I was the scout/circulating nurse) to help me find it. Also this doctor does not use these types of lenses either. She helped me find it then I gave it to the doctor to compare and he said that was the right lens. All three of us compared it and it was the right lens. Anyways we found out it ended up being the wrong lens. It was an alcon +25.0D Alcon SNsomething3 that we gave and the right lens was alcon +25.0D Alcon SNsomething4. The lens is working for the patient and no risk man was completed. My boss states I did nothing wrong and the doctor therefore changed the lens. Nothing further will be done. I am scared it might escalute more with the doctors office. I feel horrible. I've cried over it more than once and cannot eat or think properly. I always check. I feel like maybe they changed it but don't want to blame anyone. Please help.

You and the physician and the other nurse all checked together. This is not something that was purposeful or negligent. It was a learning experience for you all. Take a deep breath and move on.
