Work place burn out

What do you think is the main reason for burn out in the health care setting? Is it poor work/life balance? High patient to nurse ratio? Minimal communication/understanding from administration? High expectations/demands that are unmanageable? The lack of support from management? Long hours?

I think it's a combination of poor staffing and catering to patients' unreasonable demands.

people thinking like they are at a hotel and the administration allowing that mindset. When I worked at ED, I didn't have time for puffing up pillows and wheeling people to bathroom (how the hell did you walk in here, now you can't walk all of sudden?), but couldn't tell them straight up. Isn't like this in other countries you know.

I call them Hospital induced paralysis patients. They walk with steady gait to triage but become paralyzed as soon as they see the wait time.

All of the above, but if I must pick a main reason, the high expectations/demands that are unmanageable. The promise of excellent patient care with poor staffing or resources to deliver. Nurses don't want to leave their workplace with the feeling that patient's did not get the care they needed, or the fear of posssible mistakes when rushed to complete task.
