post-abortion patient have been NPO about 8hrs., what will be the most concern of you: dehydration or hypoglycemia?

dehydration--or rather, fluid volume deficit--since this procedure may be accompanied or followed by excessive bleeding.

Honestly, it would depend on the particular patient. If she is diabetic, I would be extremely concerned about possible hypoglycemia. If she had a normal procedure, and no comorbids, I would be more concerned about risk of infection than anything else.

You are so right--we need more info. Is this a clinical situation? A test question?

That is the normal procedure and no comorbidities. In recovery room, the following are the normal symptoms for post-procedure patients: nausea, vomiting, cramping, dizziness, and drowsy.
