just curious what happens to floor nurses, new nurses, and different level of management when monopoly takes over local hospitals. thanks in advance.

Specializes in wound care.

they start building apartments and hotels and start charging BIG RENT. just dont land on park place or board walk ,,,youll go broke

That's what I want to know as well, because in my city, one hospital system is going to be taken over by a bigger system.

Better not get black listed or leave in bad terms.

My hospital has a bit of a monopoly going on, owns a lot of the hospitals in the area and is one of the few healthcare systems I can confidently say will still be here in ten years.

I know, as others have said, you don't want to get into a blood feud with them and leave on bad terms. Once they decide you are not employable, they will act accordingly. To top things off, the other healthcare facilities will dog pile on you once the know you are blacklisted. They'll low ball you cause..........well...........where else you gonna go?

I like where Im at though. Im stressed at times and would have a few things different if it were up to me, but I feel secure. The benefits are fair, I like the retirement plan and my wage is "good enough". That's more than a lot of people have right now.

We all float down here.
