Just wanted to let you guys in a on "secret" I don't know if y'all know about an OTC drug called Emetrol but it works if you're vomiting and can't stop. I've been up since 1AM this morning and I tried zofran, and tried phenergan. Nothing helped because I couldn't keep it down long enough. But let me tell you this Emetrol WORKS like magic....you take it q15m for up to one hour or until the vomiting stops. Mine stopped with one tablespoon...it was nasty, but it worked!

Just wanted to let you guys in if you didn't know about it,

Brett

didn't work for me whatsoever. but so glad to see you got relief! feel better soon!

I LOVE Emetrol. Came down with a nasty stomach virus a couple of years ago and the Dr told us to use Emetrol. It's the best stuff. You're right - tastes yucky but works wonderfully!

Is Emetrol that dark brown OTC stuff?

If so, I think it's just cola concentrate--like Coke, without the carbonation or water. I've used it when I was preggers...kept the cookies down on those mornings when even the Rx anti-nausea meds weren't working.

Try flat Coca-Cola--it works almost as well. It has to be absolutely flat, and my grandmother would boil it a bit to take some of the water off.

:D

It's got dextrose, fructose, and phosphoric (sp) acid in it.

brett-- thats coke syrup...

and, yes, it works like a charm.

YES! LOVE IT! I had "unexplained nausea" for a month once. It was so strong that everyone around me was convinced I was pregnant. This drug and that drug didn't work for an entire month. Miserable. Then, a pharmacy tech asked if I knew about Emetrol. 2 freakin' swigs later --- NO NAUSEA! God bless them.

I have seen it on the shelves, but never have tried it. Have to file that in my memory bank for future reference....the last 2 years I have had 2 bouts of the stomach flu that landed me in the ER requiring IV fluids and IV anti-emetics....:o

that has been around long time, was only thing avaliable when I was raising my kids
