I have a phone interview on friday with the ER director at the hospital I want to work at when I graduate (in the area we are moving to)

I have no idea what to expect or how best to prepare. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I've researched the hospital and the ER dept via their website, prepared some questions (ie nurse to pt ratio, orientation length, type of scheduling, certification requirements and how that would be handled for a new grad, CEU policies, overtime requirements, etc)

What I'm really curious about is what kinds of questions are asked, as I've never interviewed for a health care position before, much less nursing. I'd like to have an idea so I can have well thought out answers.

Thanks for any input!

The most common question I've heard:

What are your stengths/weaknesses?

I've been given scenarios and asked how I'd respond/react.

Know the facility's Mission statement, which may be found on their website (especially if a religious organization)-they may ask how you feel about that, and how you will integrate it into your job---yes, I've had that asked as well!

These are what came to me immediately...I'll post later if I can think of more!

Good luck!!!:nurse:
