I have been told that 100% vegetable glycerin (from the health food store)is actually a drying agent when used on the skin. Is this true? All that I keep finding is conflicting reports on the internet. Thanks in advance!

I thought it was a moisturizing agent, at least that's what the label states.

Glycerin can get *sticky* when it dries, but I don't know that it's a drying agent. Given that it's the main ingredient in most, ahem, personal lubricants, I have trouble crediting that its main effect is drying...
