Trying to get scrubs soft

Published

I recently purchased some "cute" scrub-tops to wear for PJ's - Disney mostly. But they are really itchy. How does one get them really soft besides putting a 1/2 bottle of downy in the wash?

Washing them in hot water.

I had a set of sheets that were so stiff they could stand on their own. Had to wash them 5 times in hot water before they were soft.

try a little baking soda in the wash water.

Tanxs - I'll give that a shot.:D

If they are that material that is fluid proof, they aren't going to soften too much!

Also try 2 or 3 dryer sheets when you dry them.

I try hard to buy something that is 100% cotton. No problems with fabric then. Or...get the highest possible cotton content in your scrubs. If you get something that is 80% poly/20% cotton, they will not be too comfy. Maybe polyester was fine in the 70's. Today, it's good as a blend, but definitely not as a material.

When I buy new scrubs and they are too stiff I wash them first in cold water with a cup of salt. Sets the colors better to prevent bleeding, I then wash them in regular cycle. Thypically that combo makes them more comfortable.
