To tell...or not to tell...that is the ???

Hey all...I have a dilemma. I am currently in an intern program at a local trauma hospital and I just found out that I'm pregnant. Should I tell them that I am pregnant? I guess the only thing that I'm worried about is that they won't want to "hire" me once my intern program is up in April since I'll be going on maternity leave in September.

I really feel that I should tell, especially since I could get some patients that are in isolation while I'm working.

If I were you, I'd tell before they found out other ways. People want to hire those that they can trust. If you don't tell anyone you're pregnant, obviously in time they will find out and wonder why you didnt tell them sooner even though you knew. I know it's maybe not what you want to hear... but it's the right thing to do

First of all -- congratulations!

I started a new job as a pharmacy technician at a hospital and 6 weeks into training found out I was pregnant. I think my boss wasn't very happy with me when I told her. Throughout my pregnancy I worked through the nausea, and made it through the 10 hour days with no sitting down just like everybody else (maybe better than my coworkers because I had something to prove - LOL) After my boss saw me trucking through 9 months of pregnancy she knew I was going to be a fabulous worker when I came back from maternity leave. I think if you can show them that you can show up for your internship every day ready to work and learn they hospital will have a lot of respect for you. Best wishes to you!

BTW to make my long story short I should have just said, "You have to tell them... They're GOING to find out anyway!"
