The Virtues of Hospice

Desire to learn more about what Hospice Programs are all about?? Read this article from Patient Care for the Nurse Practitioner® Archive November 2000. I also posted in the Hospice section.

As a former Hospice Nurse, I feel it has one of the best descriptions of Hospice care & services provided.

Thank you Karen,

I am also a former Hospice Nurse and appreciate this public information. I moved into Long Term Care after Hospice and just this week have made plans to return to Hospice by taking a position in an inpatient Hospice Facility, where I previously worked.

Thanks,

Michele

I have always thought that someday when I am truely tired of the crazy world of ICU Nursing...I will go to Hospice to work, I have seen it work so well in my own family........thanks for the information/posting........imaRN

Congrats on the new position Chellyse66. I also am a former Hospice nurse, CRNH. It was a great few years, but as you well know is draining. Is the burnout rate still about 3 years for hospice nurses? I really admire people who can do it for 5, 10, 15 or more years. It's tough. Lots of luck. Take care of yourself.
