The Next Step After Graduation?

So, I will be graduating in December and I have a dilemma.

I'm torn between working at the small hospital in my hometown or working at a bigger hospital in a town 30 miles away. I know which one I'm leaning towards, but I'm still not sure what I want to do. I want what is going to be best for me.

So, I have a question for you all...

What are the pros & cons of working in a smaller hospital?

What are the pros & cons of working in a bigger hospital?

Your answers are greatly appreciated, Thank You!!

Do you have a job offer from either at this point?

Not at this point.

I think it depends on your personality and goals. I liked small hospitals. There is much more camaraderie and you will get to know the entire hospital.

Big hospitals may offer more experiences, but I found them to be cold , cruel places.

Best of luck with your decision.

It's too early to make your decision -- as it should depend on the specifics of the jobs you are offered. Apply to both and go through the interview process. Ask questions about the orientation, opportunities for continued education, types of patient experience you will get, resources available, scheduling, etc. Then and only then will you be able to say which one will best meet your needs. Until you have those facts (and more), you can only guess which would be better for you.
