Its truly encouraging when fellow nurses with experience (whether little or a lot) help out new graduate RNs...

With the job market being so tough, it really takes a toll on lot of us, especially the ones without jobs...

Being dropped off into reality right after school can be scary and discouraging so when others who have been nurses longer, their thoughts and advice are a HUGE LIFESAVER...there is absolutely nothing more you can ask for~

It inspires and motivates you to want to be like them one day...to give back..

:heartbeatTHANK YOU TO ALL THE NURSES for their amazing thoughtful advice!!:heartbeat

on behalf of the crusty old bat society, if i may be so bold, thank you for the nice words and you are very welcome. :thankya:

just remember that when we are sundowning and you have to give us haloperidol, we'd rather have fentanyl, thank you.:zzzzz

I think one of the best parts about being a nurse is to help a new nurse. Or any other nurse for that matter.

I have a friend who has been a nurse for a hundred years we joke and I have been a nurse since 2001. We joke about her being out school and me being fresh out of school. She is my rock and I am hers. Sometimes we "get on the roof" and need the other to hold the ladder so we don't kick it away and jump. I strongly believe that we each need someone who has experience, that we can trust and not pass judgement. Secret mentors if you will. We all possess something that makes us unique

@ Lpn1213~

thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts...I completely agree with you!! How terrible would life be without these fellow nurses helping us? You are very lucky and blessed to have such an amazing mentor....I truly am envious of your relationship =) Keep it up and make sure to thank your mentor!!! They all deserve our thanks and love :heartbeat
