I am working part-time in a LTC that I pretty much enjoy. Of course, it has it's problems as most places do, but over all not too bad of a place.
Now, here's the question. I received a letter in the mail from a large teaching hospital congratulating me on being accepted into their 9 month Perioperative Internship. I had applied for this during the summer and hadn't heard aything until now. I was totally caught off gaurd by this and very excited. I know this program is extremely tough and I am scared!!!
Do I stay at my comfortable, familiar job with very little chance for advancement and crappy benefits, but a great DON or try this internship out???

You know you need to try it! If you weren't interested you'd never have applied.
You can always go back to the LTC facility. Good luck to you Sheva!

I can only say ditto to the other posts. If you didn't take this opportunity, you find yourself always thinking "what if?"

This is totally your goal here...how can we comment? LOL!
Ask yourself what do you want to be doing 5 years from now and if it's NOT where you are, then I say go for it...but it's up to you.
Best wishes and let us know what you decide. :)
Thats how I have been looking at it..if I don't take the position I may always wonder "what could have been". I can always go back to the LTC facility if I needed too. It's just so scarey!!!
