Should I apply now or wait for my license?

I'm currently licensed as an RN in NJ. I'll be mailing my app for a PA license tomorrow. About how long should I expect to wait? Do you think it's safe to send out applications for per diem jobs in PA now, or should I wait? I need a per diem job asap, and the job hunt process usually takes a couple months. I was hoping to start the process, and hopefully by the time they call and say your hired I'll have the license. What do you think?

I moved from Florida to New Mexico. I sent out Resumes with my Florida license number and noted that my New Mexico license had been applied for. I had a job lined up before I had my New Mexico license! I would go ahead and send them out. You can always follow up with a letter informing them when your PA license comes in. Good luck with your job search!

Have you seen all the threads on people looking for jobs? Apply for jobs now, worry about the license endorsement later.

Go ahead and apply -- it's v. common to be looking for a job in a new location before you actually have the license in hand.
