We are probably going to be relocating and one of the places we are considering is Savannah Georgia. It is north of where my hubbies family is. Any good hospitals there. What do any of you have lived there think of living and working in this city?
Thanks!
Just hoping someone will respond to my post!

I've never lived in Savannah before, but have lived near there once and driven through the city lots of times. It's a beautiful city from what I could see. :)

Never lived in Savannah, but is a beautiful town and I would move there tomorrow if I could. If you wanted to live in an outlying area, and didn't care for the hospitals in that area, I think Charleston, SC is within commuting distance. I could be wrong. Either place would be wonderful to live in my opinion!!!!

I lived there for a year and a half. Culture shock all the way around for me since I'm from MN. It's absolutely gorgeous but I didn't care for it much. Life was a little too slow-paced for me. They had an extremely bad economy then. I wasn't a nurse at that time so I can't speak for the hospitals. But jobs were unbelievably hard to find and keep. I found most of the women that I worked with petty, catty and immature. The difference in attitudes floored me because I viewed myself as a professional and worked very hard. (I was a marketing assistant/executive secretary) Another thing I found odd - everyone left at EXACTLY five o'clock whether the work was done or not. I was always praised for my work ethic.
But this was working in an entirely different field. So hopefully you will not have this experience in the medical arena. But the scenary is breathtaking - no kidding. I moved back to MN about 3 years ago so maybe the economy has improved somewhat. I don't want to be discouraging so take my experience as just one tiny experience in many. Its gorgeous, warm and most of the people are friendly - it just wasn't for me, thats all.
Good luck
