Removing ink from stethoscope

Does anyone know how to remove ink stains from a stethoscope? Will armor all cleaning wipes help? Or do I need to get a new tubing? I have an MDF pink stethoscope. I already tried alcohol, water and soap and neither worked

AquaNet hairspray used to work wonders for ink stains.

I´m awesome glad, that you bring such a serios problem to the board.

If chemical solusions don´t work, just try physical activities:

Peel the stains off with a scalpel.

To paint it over or to use sandpaper is a hygienical "No Go".

Good luck, Frieda

Warm soapy water and slight friction is recommended. Alcohol and alcohol containing materials such as hairspray, while good at denaturing inks and removing stains, are generally not recommended since they will start to dissolve the tubing making it sticky.

Likely, the ink has penetrated into microstructures within the PVC tubing and without using mechanical means to remove the ink it may be impossible.
