Proof of liscense before starting?

Ok so last week I passed NCLEX! YEAH! I called my new job (HR and my manager) to let them know that I passed. I scheduled my new hire health screen and HR told me to bring in proof that I passed. Im suppose to start orientation March 9th.

What should I bring!? I just took my test last week so I know I wont get anything in the mail. I am not on the BON website yet and I am aware that it takes some time. So what should I show them until the real papers get processed??? And does anyone know how to and when I should give the BON $50 dollars for my actually liscense!

Also do you think something like this will affect my start date? They said I can't start until I show them proof I passed and I am afraid I will be held up starting by a month because of this. I also need to write my resignation letter to my current boss ( I am a tech in an ER) and I don't want to write it in case I have to stay another month!

I appreciate the advice and I feel dumb for not knowing what do to next. I had tried to look it up on the IL BON website and I didn't see any helpful info....but who knows I might be missing something.

All of my employers have verified my license themselves as part of the hiring process. They do this on the phone, with a fax, or online. I can't see why they put the burden on the new hire. After all, the new hire could be bringing them a false document for all they know.

Agree, they can check online, you don't even need to show renewal anymore as the employer can check online. FWIW, you will be billed by your State Dept of Treasury for licensing fee, only need to pay the renewal fee due during your BD month. Some employers though are just a little nuts, my HHA that I started last year wanted a copy of my diploma from the university I graduated from, umm, it's been >20 yrs, don't have it, I had to go to the school and get a copy of my TRANSCRIPTS from 2 decades ago, WTH? I mean I have had an active license in the same state for 20 years, gee isnt that AND my background check AND my references enough??

Transcripts from school more than 20 years ago? I wonder what they do about the people that do hand them phony documents. A man at the employment office once told me that nurses were notorius for presenting false papers for employment purposes. And what do the school transcipts have to do with a HHA job anyway? An unencumbered license has been all that I've ever needed. What a pain!

I guess I better get a copy of that junk for future use! Lost it all years ago.

Lucky for me I live about 10 miles from the school, but still, I felt they were being pretty intrusive, I understood checking driver's license and insurance (.... I guess,) but what should they care even if my car isn't insured, it doesn't effect them per say if I get into an accident, what risk is it to the agency? but good grief my transcripts, and it is a pain, because they have to mail them to you, and you have to give it to them UNOPENED/SEALED, I guess so you can't 'tamper' with them, but in my opinion a license is a license, whether its with a 3.8 or 3.0, everyone knows the standards of a nursing school required for courses just to graduate :icon_roll whatever....

Thank you! So is this probably a case of HR getting things jumbled!? My plan was when I go in just print off what I got from pearsonvue ( being that so far its kinda all I have...even though I understand it is unofficial) until something on the BON comes up and say"Im sorry this is the best I can do for now..I'll give you everything as it comes" Is that what I should do??? AHHHH always something to be anxious about!:hdvwl:

Until you can print something from the BON site, this is what I would do. Unless HR wants to verify your license the way everyone else does.
