HI everyone, do you know of an OR program for RN in Florida? I'm a Registered Nurse for 4.5 yrs. I want to do a short course in Operating Room. Please i await your response.

Thanks.

The only "OR Program" that I know of is an extensive training & orientation that the employer gives new hires. Traditionally, you must sign a contract for X number of years that you will work for that facility, due to the fact that orientation is so long and costly.

There are some schools that offer a periop course. However, I view these courses as unnecessary. First, you need hands on experience to back up the classroom education. Secondly, even if you shell out the money for such a course, you will still need the full orientation provided by an employer, which will cover everything in the course anyway. Instead, look for a facility that offers a residency or structured orientation program for nurses new to the OR.
