Online CEU company/problem

Nurses General Nursing

Published

This past year I've used an online service for CEUs..no problem until this past month. I just "happened" to be checking my credit card information, and found two charges(one each 10/18 and 10/19) that I had NOT authorized. I found this just a couple of days after they were posted. Immediately called the cc company and put the charges in dispute, and emailed the CEU comapny No answer the 1st time, so I emailed them a 2nd. Subject of email "unauthorized charges" Still no answer.

Anyone have any suggestions?

thanks

I would ask the credit card company to issue you new cards with new numbers, just to be safe in the future.

I don't have any other advice, as this has never happened to me. But please keep us posted as to what comes of it!

Would you tell us the name of the CEU company, or post a link to the site, so at least all of us here don't fall victim to their "antics?"

I thought that company sounded familiar. About a year ago someone else had problems. I know Alabama, North Dakota and Kentucky BON will no longer accept their CEUs. And I believe California has rejected them also.

So you wouldn't be able to get ANY credit for your money.

Hey P RN,

Do you know if MEDCEU is acceptable for renewal of Ohio's Licenses? A few months ago, I signed up with them cause they were offering a great deal, unlimited CEU's for 39.99 through 2004 plus they had a one credit course regarding the Rules and laws of the Ohio Board of Nursing. I saw that they were approved by the ACCN so I thought that they were legit. Please let me know what you can find out. Thanks!

Well, I contacted the Ohio Board of Nursing and they told me that as long as another state board of nursing approved them as a CEU provider then it was ok for ceu use in Ohio, yet still I am confused. So any information that anyone has would be great!

Just an update...I checked my cc account online and the charges have been credited to my acct. I'm still very unhappy that i have NOT received any communication from MEDCEU despite the emails I've sent them.

Hey joy,

Whom do I contact at medceu.com? I was going to write them and let them know that they are not accredited by the Alabama nurses association as the website claims. I want to see what happens! Thanks,

Kelly

joyfl--you might consider finding out what state or states this company is based out of and reporting it to the state Attorney General and Better Business Bureau.

If a company racks up enough complaints, the AG can fine it or shut it down permanently.

Glad you got your $$ back.

Last year I just e-mailed the SC board (I live in SC) and got a reply almost immediately. I also contacted California and the ANA who said the company LIED about where they were accepted.
