For those of you (like me) who are "On call" for your department (OR, PACU, ER,GI LAB,Cath LAB.......), what do you get an hour for "being on call?". We recieve $3.30 an hour to hold the pager, then time 1/2 if called in.
Thanks. We are gathering info to try and up this,. Location, Southern CAllif.
We get a whopping TWO bucks an hour to be on call, and then our regular pay if they call us in. I work in southern Louisiana...
OH, and to top it off... you don't get a pager. So, you're either on your own cell phone or you have to stay home where they can get in touch with you...
We pay two hours of base pay for each 8 hour shift of call. OT is paid if over 40 hours worked. Shift differentials are also paid if applicable. I.E. an RN at $20/hr makes $40/8 hour call shift.
When I was working, we got paid $50 dollars for the weekend from Friday 3pm until Monday 7am. If you had to work any shifts during the weekend, you got paid at your regular pay. If you had to go out you got paid for 3 hours or for however long you stayed if longer.
