Hi,

For those of you (like me) who are "On call" for your department (OR, PACU, ER,GI LAB,Cath LAB.......), what do you get an hour for "being on call?". We recieve $3.30 an hour to hold the pager, then time 1/2 if called in.

Thanks. We are gathering info to try and up this,. Location, Southern CAllif.

2.00 an hour. I live 25-35 minutes away. There are some that live an hour away. The general rule is that you should be here within 30 minutes. If I get called in, I am staying the whole shift.

If staffing changes, which it can do around 2pm. Sometimes staff isn't needed. If we don't call them off in time, they are guaranteed 4 hours to work.

$3.00 per hour. Regular pay + call pay if called in. Have to be clocked in within 30 minutes of being called. + any differential (shift, weekend) that are appropriate. HHHaattttttteeeeeee being on call.

We aren't do so bad then, though we are the lowest paid in any local hospital within 3 counties wide (L.A County is big). If we go in and case is cancelled, we are out of luck. No minimum. It's sad to have to come in for a DandC which takes OR 10 minutes (though they set up) then we are don in 1 hour. It takes longer to come and go than to take care of the pt. Oh well. Call does suck.
