Hello everyone,

ok, so my post thus so far have all been negative, real negative, mostly written through tears and frustration as per not being able to find a job. I received an interview offer for a very part-time job a few hours a week. After a restful night and an enlightening dream, mine you I don't believe in dreams but I remember telling someone that I want to do administration within nursing. Interesting all this time I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. So I have decided that this time around I am going to do what makes me happy or at least satisfied. You must think I'm nuts, I decided to let this interview go, plus the commute for a few hours was a lot.

Yes I am still job hunting but I can't help thinking that something through the Grace of God will come through for me. Maybe it's wishful thinking, yes I have financial obligations but negative thinking has never done anything for me. In fact I think negative self-talk only makes you feel defeated.

I plan to keep going, and never give up. Hey I got this far for a reason. I really relieve I am going to do great things. In fact I am going to start a gratitude book, thanking God for all my blessings, and yes he has blessed me. I wish everyone continued success. For anyone in the same position or just burned-out keep your head up. Thanks all.

hello there! i hope you don't mind, i went back and read your previous posts regarding your job search. back in 03 i was injured on the job, ended up with rsd in my ankle and couldn't work the floor anymore. i had only ever done critical care nursing and after ten years of that, i was at a loss for what to do. well recovery took years instead of months. to keep my sanity, i learned to make jewelry, first just to keep my hands busy but then to sell which did quite well. finally came the day when i could walk without overwhelming pain, i could work in my yard and sleep at night. i was able to wean myself off all the pain meds they had put me on over the years. rsd is extremely painful and it never ends for some people. i am lucky it has gone into remission. so deciding it was time to work again, i tried for a pharmacy tech. got the job, no problem.the problem came after starting to work on my feet. once again pain was my constant companion. back out of work, frustrating, demoralizing to be sure. i tried for many jobs that were non medical, non nursing related. all i ever heard if i heard back from them at all was, you are over qualified for this work. yes i feel your pain in that one. it makes you feel like what good was all this education for, because i don't have a masters in nursing or business, i will not get employment.

i am now working for medassurant doing chart reviews on site and at home. it is not consistent work to be sure. you work so many weeks in a quarter then the project ends and then you are off work, for varying degrees of time. at this point, i will take whatever work i can get. my husband had a heart attack a few years ago and hasn't been able to go back to work himself. so i work what they give me, some times it is feast or faminne but unemployment makes up in the lean times. i have no house payment, no car payment no credit card debt, but i am also a diabetic and need healthcare. they do not offer it for their field reviewers. if you live near their main office you might get lucky enough to land a job in house that does have healthcare and steady hours. research them, there are good and bad points posted for working with them, just like any employer. if anything it will give you something to compare with, perhaps a source of income until your perfect match is found. i enjoy the work. it is like detective work, searching for diagnosis that might have been missed. there are also other companies out there that do this. however since i live in bfe michigan, not much to offer up here. i am currently looking into to getting my medical coding certification, then as a rn and a coding specialist, i'll have more options.

good luck

:D You may not believe in dreams, but your dreams believe in you. Most dreams are not about seeing the future, they're about working out problems in the present. They aren't as clear cut as "airplanes" means you're gonna meet the man of your dreams or "chased by a lion" means you're going on a safari. :lol2:Your mind never sleeps.

I'm glad you're listening to your dreams. They can tell you a lot about yourself. Now that you know the direction you want to go, you will stop floundering and start focusing on one thing. I bet you feel a lot more settled today than you felt before.
