Nursing is a good career choice

Nursing can be a veryrewarding career choice. It not only gives you the opportunity to make adifference in people's lives but can also give you an opportunity to make agood living. One thing that I findattractive about getting a nursing degree is that you have options. You can doanything from emergency room trauma situations to administration. Most of it depends on not only your personalitybut how much education you get. You can go all the way to getting your PhD innursing. You can be a teacher, a manager, a charge nurse; the possibilities arereally endless. There has been a gooddeal of talk lately about how it's an overhyped career choice. These reports talk about the over saturationof new graduates versus jobs available. However, the problem really only seemsto occur with graduates with lower degrees. Many hospitals (especially teachinghospitals) will hire new graduates and train them as long as you stay for acertain length of time. As far as curriculum, any curriculum can bechallenging. The only reason that I would say be cautious of the curriculum isif you don't like biology. There is agood deal of math, but it's not that bad. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Nursing is s good career choice but in the current economy there is NO Nursing shortage and all nurses are having problems with employment...it is estimated that 50% of all college graduates cannot find work in their degree....nurses are included in those statistics. In CA it is estimated that 47% of nursing graduates cannot find work.

It's tough out there right now.

Sounds like the OP is just writing an "article" as a regular post.

To the OP, depending on where you are, it's not just a problem getting a new grad job with a "lower" degree. Areas with a BSN preference or requirement for hiring are often still very challenging markets even for BSN new grads.
