Nurses week 2003

Hi, what is everyone planning to celebrate Nurses Week?

My hospital has declared this year's theme to be "Nurses celebrating nursing". So I am making a poster and including a short description of our specialty (nephrology-haemodialysis) and using staff photo's of themselves; the photo's may be from their training days, from early dialysis days (with old machines in the photo's) and we will be taking photo's of staff with some of our dialysis patients (eg, the oldest patient and the youngest patient and who ever says "me too").

What are you all planning?

That sounds wonderful! Another thing we did, is each department of nursing was given a week during the year and could set up a display with video if they wished, in the cafeteria. That was a big hit.

we're having statewide rallies at state capitols across the country, meetings with legislators, and other events - including a rally in DC on Nurses Day - to lobby for the passage of national safe staffing ratio laws and an end to forced overtime.
