Yes, I agree. After nursing for many years I too feel that the main reason we are in the mess we have now is from letting ourselves be silenced about the difficulty/ roadblocks that hospitals and MDs have created to SILENCE our VOICES. Let the public know the truth NOW !!!!! We are here to heal not perpetuate false perceptions that have been created by business men who seem to only be looking out for themselves in the LONG run. Look at all the money that has been thrown to the business sections of hospitals and the cuts/cuts to nursing to do more with constantly LESS

As a Canadian nurse, who lives in Ontario ( Not BC) I can not imagine this scene being played out.
I mean, lets say it happened here. Let's say a nurse or nurses spoke out........ they can not fire you. Not in our unionized enviroment. Bringing legitimate health concerns to the public is part of our job and responsiblity.
I would be interested to know what the "warning" was....and more importantly how they intended on backing it up.

OH I think we nurses are turning a significant corner now. We are in the position to effect positive changes in these times of crisis shortages. I don't think we will stand still as a silent majority any more.

I'm a shop steward here in BC and I didn't hear anything about this. Although it's not my hospital, it is within my region (FHA). I'll have to check it out. Unacceptable.
