Have you taken your resume *in person* to the places you want to work?

Sometimes going through nurse recruitment can take months...

Have you practiced and refined your interview skills?

I work at a large hospital - the last position we posted (in my unit) over 100 RNs applied -- I think it's important to practice interviewing.

Are you willing to relocate?

I wish you the very best -- don't give up --you must have worked so hard!

Yeh go in person and hit those employers hard! Or call them first, then turn up and ask who the manager is. Take everything with you and say something like: can I have 5 minutes of your time, I have everything with me, could we have a quick meeting?

Also try all the nursing agencies, doctors offices, home health, health department, - think outside the square.

Good you are positive, you will get something soon I hope!

You may want to try a head hunter (employment agent or agency). Sometimes having someone else help you look for a job may open up many doors that you haven't yet thought of. Generally the fees are paid by the employer or can be negotiated on an individual basis. Also, they can offer tips and advice on how to polish your resume and how to interview.

Good luck!

No i wont want to relocate.......dallas is good, i like it here, hope to find a job soon,..

Thanks

Does your former school (or state career office) have a career center/alumni assistance with cover letters and resumes? As a former student/alumni I can seek help with cover letter and resume writing-some months they offer it free, other months the fee is like $20. The state also has centers to help people so check to see if you qualify. Having a set of qualified eyes looking over your resume is never a bad idea.

What if you removed/disabled your account with all the places you applied and redo the application process with your new resume? I know this is painstaking but it may help and will never hurt.

In my neck of the woods, a recruiter stated new grads should only apply for full time positions bc the cost of training a new grad....but I have read other posts where new grads are in a prn position. Start looking for Nurse Internship programs, they will be posted soon.

Good luck!
