I work in Illinois at a Family Practice clinic prn. I do not get benefits or insurance and am curious what the going rate is in your area. People tend to laugh :lol2: when I tell them what I make. Granted I am a new grad but I am an excellent nurse. Also I just got my annual eval and it was excellent and the increase also made my husband laugh.:lol2: Is this place cheap and I'm stupid :uhoh3: or is this just the going rate???? Once I see what other people say I'll decide whether to say what I make due to the fact I don't want everyone to laugh too.

I can not believe that doctors would pay LPNs $9-15 per hour when my starting pay at one nursing home as a CNA in Seattle was $9.75 and at my last nursing home there, was $13 an hour. Shame on them (doctors) after LPNs have gone through all that schooling.

I live in Ohio, I have a friend that is an MA who makes 15.00$. With 100% medical coverage, vacation and sick time. I think you make too little she makes too much. You have a license she has a certificate. You have more responsibility and risk. Go figure.

She learned about neromuscular blockaids (botox), knows little about every day meds such as lasix, dig and all of the risks and side effects and was given incorrect information in school. Her credits will not tx to nursing courses your's will. Go figure !

It is the LPNs who willingly work for such measly pay rates. Doctors could not reasonably get away with paying these low salaries without the consent of many LPNs out there. It is the nurses who enable the doctors to pay poorly.

You are so right. Customer srevice reps and collecters make $15 and $17 an hr plus bonuses! After all that schooling you should not settle!

Three years ago, I was earning $15.21 hourly as a factory worker at a toilet paper plant. With overtime tabulated, I was earning over $40,000 yearly. I regarded that as a decent pay rate, because I had no education beyond high school.

It's hard to say if you're getting the going rate, as you haven't told us what you make. I'm an RN, but I manned the nurse line at an incredibly busy peds practice for a long time and the LPNs made very little. Maybe $10 an hour. The turnover was hellacious, as one might imagine.

I got paid and treated better because I was an employee of the medical group as opposed to the individual practice. It fit what I needed at the time, but I don't think I'd ever do it again. Very bad vibe in that place.
