Hi,I'm a RN from Nigeria who will be relocating to Maryland (MD ) soon.I would like to know the cost of living, rent, tax rate and billing system. In addition,I wont be writing NCLEX-RN until later cos I would love to get familiar with the Clinical environment over there before writing this exam.Does anyone know any facility that employs unlicensed assistive personnel?or any facility that employs foreign educated nurses? It might not be clinicals so to speak cos I have HMO experience as well.

Please I need ur response

i can't answer all your questions but the cost of living is pretty high. tax is around 6% i think. rent depends on what you want to rent.if you share a house with your own bed room, it's around >$800/month, if you want your own apartment, it's around $1000. public transportation is not that great. hope it helps. best of luck :nurse:

Most of ur questiona are difficult to be answered, for example standard of living is like any other plave. Rent for one bedroom can be fm 800 upward (standard apartment). Tax rate n what sense. If its how much tax is taken out of pay check then i doubt if u would get a single correct answer, but its for goods bought its 6%. Also I doubt there would b a place that would hire an unlicensed personnel for a licensed position. Most especially one coming from international experience, Even if its CNA. I don't. Understand what u mean by billing system. Hope this helps
