Making licebse inactive?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I just renewed my texas RN&LVN license in may. We are planning to move overseas in December where i will most likely not be able to work as a nurse (i dont have a BSN). We might move back after 2 years or we might stay permenenly. i will have my CEUs done again before we move and am working as a nurse until we leave.should i place license on hold when we move? Or when i next need to renew (in 2 years)? Or since i am working now do i reapply once and then place a 4 year inactive hold after that in case ae move back? We will not maintain a residency in the US (will use my parents house for bills as needed)

any advice before i ask the BON?

You might get more responses if you can delete or close this post and re-post with better spelling.

There is currently a thread on Allnurses, which is repeated every few years, about poor spelling and poor grammar. Many nurses give up on responding to a post where they can't understand the question because of spelling.

As in what in the heck is a licebse? (I finally figured out you had simply mistyped and meant license, but still responders shouldn't have to "translate" what your question is?)

Do you have spell check on your computer or cell phone? Maybe someone can help you download that?

I am so sorry that I misspelled one word in the title that was spelled correctly in the very first sentence. If this site were easier to navigate by phone I could have already easily corrected it. It is constantly moving the screen up and is very hard to edit or even find the posts. There was no need to write 4 condescending paragraphs over one mistyped letter.

When you are right, you are right. (I didn't even point out that you never capitalized the word I.)

Honest, many intelligent nurses who may be able to answer your question won't even read it.

I was condescending, but I am trying to help you.

I would advise you to make the licenses inactive at next renewal, you have already paid for this renewal period. When you want to practice nursing in that state again, you can reactivate the license(s). Be sure to change your address with the Board to your parent's address when you move. You don't want to miss those renewal notices.
